High heels, high art, and a high bed!

Anjaleka Kriplani has a taste for all things fine in life. An interior architect, she is VP, interior design and sales, at the firm Renaisaance Homez. Understandably guarded about one of her prized possessions, a painting by Bose Krishnamachari, she won’t reveal its price to us. It’s a piece, she says, she wouldn’t even want to put a price to. The vibrant colours of this piece can lift her mood on any glum day and it even inspires her to make other people’s homes look good! “I prefer designing houses with good furniture, interior elevations, opulent accessories and luxurious fabrics,” she says. - Trippin" along - Moment of truth and Gabbana suits - High street The “good furniture” bit starts from her own home: Kriplani loves the Baker bed in her bedroom which she bought from the premium American brand. It has a high back with a high mattress which gives her a feeling of height and comfort. Price: Rs 6 lakh. On road, this interior designer feels at home in her Mercedes C-class, which, she says, she prefers to the E-class Merc. “I can drive the C-class myself in the evenings. The E-class feels too big,” she points out. Price: Rs 25 lakh Like most women, Kriplani is guilty of having a huge fetish for shoes. “I own 60-70 pairs of shoes,” she confessess. Her favourite from her collection is a pair from the brand Zenotti. She likes this one for its style and steel heels. Price: Rs 35,000 (approximately). From her trips abroad, Kriplani has put together an enviable collection of bags as well. She has the best of Bottega, Elvy and Hermes. However, it is a red Prada bag that she bought recently which is her favourite. For Rs 15,000. When Kriplani is not shopping, she is eating! Never mind her svelte looks, she says, she is a complete foodie with a sweet tooth. She is also, according to her own confession, always busy trying out “more of Chinese, Italian, Thai and French cuisine”. For someone who likes to dress well and look good, Kriplani often shops at boutiques of brands such as Armani and Joseph, which is a French brand. “I travel extensively to France, Italy and to the US. I love to follow fashion trends and religiously keep track of celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston,” she says. What about buys at home? Any favourite designers? The lady says that, while in India, she frequents stores of designers like Rohit Bal, Shahab Durazi, Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, preferring a classical look.
