"From October, we will be exporting engine components to Japan which will be manufactured at our Tapukara plant. Currently, we are making these products for the hatchback Jazz for the Indian market," Honda Siel Cars India President and CEO Masahiro Takedagawa told reporters here. He said, due to this export HSCI would now be a part of Honda"s pan Asia supply chain network. "It is a testimony of the quality of products manufactured in India," Takedagawa said. HSCI has bagged the export order due to a rapid increase in the sale of small cars in Japan which has led to a capacity constraint at Honda"s facility for these components. The company"s Tapukara plant, which started operation in September 2008, is spread across an area of 450 acres and has a state of the art crank-shaft line and a robotised cranking machine for manufacturing connecting rods. Meanwhile, HSCI today launched a new version of its sedan "Civic" in three variants priced between Rs 11.8 lakh and Rs 14.13 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
