ReaMetrix looking for global tie-ups to market product

Bangalore-based Life sciences firm ReaMetrix today said it is looking for strategic tie-ups with global players for marketing and distribution of its new product, used for diagnosing HIV. - The Caraco headache - Glenmark Generics launches hypertension drug in US - Sun Pharma gets USFDA nod for generic anti-cancer drug - Orchid Chem gets US FDA nod for anti-hypertensive drug - Poly Medicure gets USFDA nod for a range of products - Lupin buys worldwide rights for nasal spray AllerNaze "We have got the nod of the US food and drug administration (FDA) for our product and now to market and distribute it in overseas market, we are looking for tie-ups with global players," ReaMetrix Bala Manian told reporters while declining to give the names citing confidentiality. In next three years, the company through its alliances is targeting to garner 20-30 per cent share in the $250-million global market for the product, Manian said. The company has developed a new reagent for "CD4 " test used in diagnosing HIV patients. CD4 tests are used to measure the white blood cells of the person affected by HIV and based on the outcome of the result, medicines are prescribed for the person. "Our reagent is based on new technology, which enable us to keep it in dry format where as conventional reagent are kept in liquid form at low temperature, which adds to the cost of the product," he said. Manian said, they have already got the approval of Drug Controller General of India and has got validation from organisation such as NACO, NARI and AIMS. The company, however, declined to give details regarding the investments and the projected revenue.
