Rs 19k-cr highway projects to be awarded soon

The ministry has also decided to prequalify the applicants for a period of one year and establish their score and net worth in order to streamline and simplify the process of qualification of applicants for individual projects. Earlier, Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath had said that road projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore would be awarded in the next two years. “Road projects worth Rs 1,00,000 crore would be awarded this year and Rs 1,00,000 crore next year,” Nath had said last month.

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has reported a 17.90 per cent increase in the net profit for quarter ended June 30, 2009 at Rs 301.78 crore as compared to Rs 255.97 crore, during the same quarter a year ago. Pyramid Saimira moves SAT against Sebi order
Chennai-based entertainment company Pyramid Saimira Theatre Limited (PSTL) has moved the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) against market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi)’s order, which had banned the company in November 2009 from trading in the Indian securities market for seven years following irregularities in its initial pubic offering (IPO).
